The Black Stars touched down in Philadelphia on Thursday evening ahead of Saturday’s decisive FIFA World Cup Group L match against Croatia, with qualification for the Round of 32 on the line.

Ghana traveled from Providence, Rhode Island, after holding a recovery session at Bryant University on Wednesday following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with England at Gillette Stadium.

Carlos Queiroz’s squad checked into their Philadelphia team hotel late Thursday. They are scheduled to train once on Friday at the team’s base before facing Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The Black Stars sit joint top of Group L with England on four points after one win and one draw from their opening two games. A victory over Croatia guarantees Ghana a place in the knockout rounds for the first time since 2010.

The team’s arrival comes after a morale-boosting visit from a government delegation in Rhode Island earlier Thursday. Ambassador to the United States H.E. Victor Smith, Sports Minister Hon. Kofi Adams, Foreign Minister Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa and businessman Ibrahim Mahama met the players and technical staff.

England face Panama in the other Group L match on Saturday.
