Black Satellites complete preparations for decisive Togo clash at WAFU B U-20 Championship

The Black Satellites rounded off preparations on Saturday ahead of their final Group B fixture against Togo at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu supervised the team's final training session as the players were put through tactical drills and finishing exercises in readiness for Sunday's crucial encounter at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.

The Black Satellites head into the match determined to end their campaign on a positive note after collecting one point from their opening two matches. Ghana suffered a 4-2 defeat to defending champions Nigeria before producing a spirited performance to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso despite playing much of the game with ten men.

Konadu is expected to assess his options and could make changes to his starting line-up, offering opportunities to players who have featured sparingly during the tournament while maintaining a competitive side capable of securing victory.

Although Ghana has already secured automatic qualification for the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as tournament hosts, the WAFU B U-20 Championship has provided an invaluable platform for the team's development. The competition has enabled the technical team to assess the squad under competitive conditions, strengthen team chemistry and expose the players to high-level international football as preparations continue for next year's continental showpiece on home soil.
