The Black Queens will look to finish off the job when they host Mauritius in the second leg of the second round of qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games at the Essipong Stadium on Tuesday.
Ghana goes into the game with a comfortable 3-0 advantage from the first leg played at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius last Thursday.
The winner of the tie over two legs will progress to the third round of the Olympic qualifiers as Ghana continues its push for a historic first qualification for the Women's Olympic Football Tournament. The Black Queens have been in impressive form, winning their last three matches across all competitions, including the commanding first leg victory where Abigail Kim, Alice Kusi and Benedicte Simon were on target.
Mauritius, on the other hand, will be playing for pride and will hope to cause an upset away from home after a difficult first leg.
Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s team held its official Matchday-1 training session at the Essipong Stadium on Monday evening.
The Coach is expected to maintain the core of the side that won in Mauritius but could also rotate to give opportunities to other players.
Football fans across the world can watch the match on Max TV and the Ghana Football Association YouTube page. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 15:00hrs at the Essipong Sports Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi. Fans in the Western Region are expected to fill the stands to cheer the Queens on to victory.
