The Black Maidens showed incredible fight but ultimately fell 4-2 to Nigeria in a thrilling encounter at the WAFU B Girls Championship.
Ghana clawed back from a two-goal deficit to level the game, with Seidatu Wahab pulling one back with a superb 61st-minute free-kick before Gloria Adamu netted a 90th-minute equalizer to give the team hope. However, Nigeria struck twice late on to snatch victory.
Despite the defeat, the Maidens' brave and spirited performance won many hearts. The team will now turn their focus to their next match against Togo on Monday, September 21, 2026.
