Benjamin Acquah hits double for Ebusua Dwarfs in Legon Cities win

Ebusua Dwarfs striker Benjamin Acquah on Friday, registered a brace against Legon Cities to help them to a 2-1 win at the Accra Sports Stadium in a match day six tie.

Acquah scored both goals in the first half of the game before Legon Cities replied in before the break through a Joseph Adjei penalty.

Ebusua Dwarfs scored the two goals within a fourteen-minute interval, netting on the 15th and 34th minutes of the game.

The game started with a high tempo as the two teams were eager to break the deadlock, but it was the visitors who netted first through striker Benjamin Acquah 14 minutes into the encounter.

Acquah netted the second goal in the 34th minute.

But Legon Cities were awarded a penalty on the 45th which was converted by defender Joseph Adjei.

Midfielder Baba Mahama came close to snatching the equalizer for Legon Cities but his effort went straight to goalkeeper Yusuf Razak.

Despite the pressure from Cities in the second half they failed to take their chances leaving them to another home defeat in the campaign.

The win lifts Dwarfs to sixth place on the table with Legon Cities sitting at the foot of the table.
