Bechem see off AshantiGold at the Len Clay

AshantiGold suffered a rare home defeat in the First Capital Plus Premier League on Sunday as they lost to Bechem United.

The Miners, with a game in hand allowed Bechem to pick all the spoils in their match-day-17 fixture at the Len Clay Stadium.

A goal in either half ensured that Bechem moved up to sixth on the log.

Noah Martey put the visitors in front after 24 minutes as Bechem held onto their slim lead to end the opening half 1-nil up.

Bashir Hayford's side tried to draw level but not even the presence of Emmanuel Baffour, top scorer of the 2011–2012 season - scored 21 goals - in their team could alter the scoreline.

The game entered injury time and in the 91st minute, Bechem finished off the Miners with the second goal which was scored by Augustine Ocran.
