AshantiGold are back in the race for second position after beating rivals, Asante Kotoko 3-2 at the Len Clay Stadium.

The Miners almost allowed a three-nil lead to slip when Kotoko pulled back two quick goals.

Yakubu Mohammed, Aaron Amoah and last season's top-scorer Nana Poku scored for the Miners by the 61st minute.

But Ben Acheampong and Richard Yeboah scored for Kotoko, leaving the Miners on the edge in the final five minutes of the game.

AshantiGold are third on the table but level on points with Medeama ahead of the final day matches next Sunday.
