Kwesi Appiah made it a debut to remember as he scored in Ghana’s 3-0 win over Olhanense in a pre-tournament friendly on Wednesday.

The Black Stars beat the Portuguese side at the Algave Stadium in Portugal as coach Avram Grant watched his charges in a match action for the first time ahead of the start of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Cambridge United attacker scored the second goal to give Ghana a two-nil lead before halftime.

Christian Atsu opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

After recess, Grant changed his starting team for the second half as striker Jordan Ayew added the third goal.

The Black Stars will play their second friendly against German side Freiburg before travelling to Equatorial Guinea for the tournament which will start on January 17.

The game afforded Grant an opportunity to see his players before submitting a squad of 23 players before CAF's official deadline date of January 7.
