Amartey, Kyere and Odoi join camp as Black Stars continue preparations for AFCON qualifiers

Twenty-Eight players trained on Sunday following the arrival of Daniel Amartey, Denis Odoi and Daniel Kofi Kyere Sunday morning.

Ghana hit the ground running Saturday evening after arriving in the Central Regional capital - Cape Coast in the morning as preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023 Group E qualifier against Madagascar got underway.

The lads began field work on Saturday and hit the gym Sunday morning before undergoing some tactical drills in the evening.

The Twenty-eight players include:

Goalkeepers: Joseph Wollacott, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Lawrence Ati-Zigi

Defenders: Denis Odoi, Alidu Seidu, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Baba Rahman, Abdul Mumin, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo

Midfielders: Iddrisu Baba, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel Kofi Kyere, Mubarak Wakaso, Elisha Owusu

Wingers: Joseph Painstil, Andre Ayew, Augustine Okrah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Osman Bukari, Kamaldeen Sulemana

Attackers: Jordan Ayew, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Felix Afena Gyan, Kwesi Okyere Wriedt, Antoine Semenyo, Benjamin Tetteh

Meanwhile Columbus Crew defender Jonathan Mensah is expected to join the camp on Monday, May 30, 2022.

Ghana will take on Madagascar at the Cape Coast stadium on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 with the match scheduled for 7pm kick off.

Coach Otto Addo is aiming for a bright start to the Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023 qualifiers after securing a place at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in March this year.

The Black Stars are housed in Group E alongside Angola, Central African Republic and Madagascar.
