Accra Lions clash with Karela United Friday

Accra Lions are unbeaten in their last three games and will be locking horns with Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Karela United are winless since their 3-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea on a Matchday Two having drawn 6 and one 1 in seven games. 

Accra Lions sit ahead of Karela United with one point separating them. Having won one game in their last five matches, Accra Lions have drawn two and lost two and sit in 15th place in the League table with 9 points.

Karela United are also winless in their last five games with one defeat and four draws and are currently 16th in the League table with 8 points.

Accra Lions have played Karela United twice at home since their debut in the 2021/22 season. Accra Lions won 1-0 against Karela United in 2021/22 and 2-1 in 2022/23. 

Accra Lions have scored three goals and conceded one while Karela United have also scored one goal in their first two away meetings.

Daniel Kwame Awuni has scored two goals in their last three matches for the club and will be available for selection, with left back, David Oduro, center back Ali Mohammed and Samuel Gyimah all available for selection. 

Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed, Bernald Kesse, Baba Salifu Apiiga, Musa Hamzata and Issah Ibrahim are all aiming to start for Accra Lions. 

Evans Adomako Wiredu is expected to lead the lines for Karela United - the former Asante Kotoko player has scored four goals in the league. Other players aiming to start include Emmanuel Owusu Boakye, George Amonoo, Mohammed Asigre Sulemana, Humin Dafie, Abdul Raman Yaya, Samuel Arthur and Maxwell Agyemang.

The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3pm on Friday.
