Real Tamale United fall to Northern City FC

Former Premier League side Real Tamale United FC continued their inconsistent run, failing to register a win in their last three matches (D1, L2) after a 3–2 home defeat to city rivals Northern City FC — who are battling relegation — at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Mohammed Kamil gave Northern City FC an early lead in the 5th minute before Musah Alhassan restored parity for RTU two minutes later to send the game into halftime at 1–1.

After the break, an own goal by Hassan Abdul Rahman in the 50th minute put the visitors back in front. RTU responded again in the 71st minute through a superb strike from Abdulai Abdul Rashid to make it 2–2. However, Isaac Acheampong delivered the decisive blow five minutes later, scoring the winner for Northern City FC. Despite the defeat, Real Tamale United FC remain second in Zone One A with 47 points.
