Former Ghana international Mallam Yahaya has been promoted to the position of acting head coach by premiership side, King Faisal, taking over from Stephen Abugri.

King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grunsah on Monday confirmed that Abugri, who led the team to win promotion back to the elite division after a season in Division One has been asked to "step aside."

Abugri is accused by the Club of gross insubordination towards Grunsah.

Yahaya, 37, a former club and Borussia Dortmund player will lead Faisal into their match-day-7 fixture in Kpando against Heart of Lions.

Abugri is the second Premier League coach to lose his job in the early stages of the competition. The first was Hearts of Oak's C.K. Akonnor, who got the sack last Wednesday.

King Faisal are sitting 10th of the standings having won two games, lost three and drawn one.
