32nd Congress: President Kurt E.S Okraku unveils new wave of major partnerships as corporate Ghana backs GFA
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has hailed the growing confidence of Corporate Ghana in the country's domestic football, announcing a series of major partnerships that will inject fresh commercial support into competitions ranging from Colts football to the Division One League and Women's Premier League.
Speaking at the 32nd Ordinary Session of Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday, August 20, 2026, President Simeon-Okraku described the increasing involvement of corporate institutions as a strong endorsement of the progress made by the Football Association.
“Corporate Ghana continues to demonstrate unwavering confidence in our vision for the development of domestic football,” he said.
“The growing commitment of the corporate community is a strong endorsement of the progress we have made and a clear indication that our competitions continue to offer a credible and attractive platform for strategic partnerships and long-term investment.”
As part of the new commercial drive, the GFA has entered into a three-year partnership with Kivo Ghana to support the development of Colts football. Under the agreement, Kivo Ghana, together with JLAB, will serve as joint title sponsors of the revived U-17 Boys Inter-Clubs Colts Championship, providing renewed commercial backing for grassroots football and creating more competitive opportunities for young players.
The Women's Premier League has also secured significant new commercial support.
Gold Fields Ghana has become the competition's headline sponsor for the next two years, while KFC joins as the Official Meal Sponsor.
President Simeon-Okraku said the partnerships would enhance the commercial appeal and professional image of the women's competition while providing additional momentum for the continued growth of women's football in Ghana.
XI Energy Drink takes Division One Super Cup
At the Division One level, XI Energy Drink has signed a four-year partnership as headline sponsor of the Division One League Super Cup.
The agreement provides a major commercial boost to one of the GFA's newest competitions while strengthening the Association's efforts to reward excellence among Division One clubs.
In another exciting development, Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has become the new headline sponsor of the Division One League for the next three years.
President Simeon-Okraku described the partnership as an exciting development for the second-tier competition and revealed that UMB will also collaborate with the GFA to launch the maiden UMB U-19 Premier League.
The new competition is designed to address the crucial transition between juvenile and senior football by providing young players with a structured, competitive platform to continue their development.
“This pilot competition will provide another structured pathway for our young footballers to continue their development in a highly competitive environment,” the President said.
President Simeon-Okraku also expressed the GFA's appreciation to Access Bank for its contribution to the Division One League during its period as headline sponsor.
“I wish to express our sincere gratitude to Access Bank for its invaluable support and partnership over the years, which contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the Division One League,” he said.
The transition to a new headline partnership with UMB, he suggested, represents continuity in the GFA's efforts to build strong commercial foundations for domestic football.
From grassroots Colts football and youth development to women's football, the Division One League and its emerging competitions, the GFA's strategy is to broaden the commercial base of the domestic game.
KGL continues
The President also announced that the Football Association has secured a two-year extension of its successful partnership with KGL. Under the renewed agreement, KGL will remain the headline sponsor of the KGL U-17 Colts Inter-Regional Championship, extending a partnership that has played a significant role in strengthening youth football across Ghana.
