WAFA pipped 1-0 at home by Aduana Stars

West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) were beaten 1-0 at home by Aduana Stars in their Match Day 14, of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the WAFA Park, Sogakope.

Yahaya Mohammed extended his goal tally after scoring the only goal of the game.

The Dormaa boys who were resilient and poised to get something from the game put up a strong defense just minutes in the first half.

Goalkeeper Addo Joseph of Aduana Stars was called to action in the 25th minutes as he punched out a long drive from Boakye Augustine to safety.

The first department of the game ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

After recess, WAFA created chances but could not penetrate through to get the necessary home win.

Substitute Daniel Owusu, who came in for Kingsford Opoku in the 47th minute, pulled a shot that hit the crossbar.

Top scorer of Aduana Stars this season, Yahaya Mohammed headed home a cross in the 65th minute which was the only goal of the game. The goal, his 11th this season, moves him joint-top in the scorers' chart with Inter Allies' Victorien Adebayor.

Moments before full time, WAFA tried to redeem themselves but to no avail.

This is WAFA's second home defeat as they lost 1-2 to Liberty Professionals in Match Day 6.

Joseph Addo of Aduana was adjudged NASCO man of the match.
