Ghana's U-17 men's team on Thursday afternoon lost narrowly to Sampdoria in a test game.

The Black Starlets were 3-2 losers in their second test game which saw the Serie A side blend their regular first team players with some reserves.

Oti Essigba and Yakubu Mohammed scored for Ghana, who will play the Novara U-20 team on Tuesday.

Eder scored for Sampdoria after 22 minutes before Essigba equalised four minutes later.

The Italian side went ahead again, this time from a Maxi López penalty in the 37th minute to give Sampdoria a 2-1 lead.

Yakubu restored parity after the break before a late goal by Soriano with two minutes to end the game decided the test game.

The Black Starlets have been preparing in Novara, Italy for the 2013 African Junior Championships which begins next week in Morocco.

In the first test match, the Black Starlets thrashed Swiss second-tier side FC Gossau 10-0.
