Asante Kotoko have seen their seven point lead at the top of the OneTouch Premier League standings cut to five after the Porcupine Warriors could only manage a point from the dreaded Golden City Park in their match-day-14 clash with Berekum Arsenals.

The free scoring Porcupine Warriors, for the second consecutive time had to settle for a goalless draw game after having played a 0-0 draw earlier on Sunday in their outstanding fixture with Accra Hearts of Oak.

The draw by the Reds helped the course of their pursuers – Liberty Professionals and Heart of Lions – who both won their home games in midweek.

Two late goals helped Liberty Professionals beat AshantiGold 2-0 at the Carl Reindorf Park after a goalless first half. Yaw Antwi and Ashmond Asamoah got both goals for the Dansoman-based side.

Heart of Lions also maintained the chase with a 2-1 home win over Zaytuna FC. Lions, despite level on points with Liberty Professionals remain at third place due to the Dansoman side’s superior goal advantage.

A brace by Ransford Osei before the 32nd minute and a second half strike by Moro Ibrahim helped Kessben FC to a 3-0 home win over bottom-placed, Accra Great Olympics at the Anane Boateng Stadium.

The defeat leaves Great Olympics faced with relegation as they prop the table having conceded 26 goals in fourteen matches and managed only 9 points so far with eleven goals to their credit.

At the Swedru Sports Stadium, a 2-0 home win over Real Tamale United by Gamba All Blacks helped the Black Magicians leap out of the bottom three as they try to turn their season around.

King Faisal continued to improve their standings on the table with a 2-0 win over Sekondi Hasaacas in a late kick off game at the Baba Yara Stadium. Samed Oppon put Faisal in the lead from a spot kick before Awudu Abubakar wrapped up victory in the second half.

The Tema derby ended in a 1-1 draw as Real Sportive forced a point off local side, Tema Youth.

The game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Wa All Stars has been rescheduled to March 19.
