Råsunda to host Ghana-Brazil

The Råsunda fotbollsstadion in Solna would host Ghana’s second game in her two-match friendly series later this month.

Ghana play Brazil in Sweden on March 27, three days after a similar exercise in Austria.

The Swedish Football Association on Friday confirmed the match venue.

Råsunda fotbollsstadion, nicknamed - The Concrete Bunker, is the home of the Swedish FA and club side, AIK Solna has a capacity 35,000–36,800 depending on usage.

The March 27 encounter with Brazil comes after almost nine months since the South American nation edged out Ghana, the only African side to reach the knockout stages of last year’s World Cup finals in Germany at the round of 16 stage.

Ghana would be playing two separate international friendlies against Austria and Brazil within a four-day period later this month.

The Black Stars would take on Euro 2008 co-host, Austria in Graz on March 24 before flying out to take on former world champions, Brazil in Solna, Sweden.

Both matches are expected to boost the Black Stars’ preparations towards the African Cup of Nations in 2008 which Ghana would be hosting.
