Aduana coach Herbert Addo celebrated his historic premiership success with the league debutants but still felt the need to augment his side for Africa.

The new champions were on Sunday presented with the trophy during a special ceremony at their base in Dormaa.

The coach guided the Dormaa side to their first trophy on their debut campaign in the topflight, a first in Ghana football and thanked the club's fans for their support.

"I am happy for the team, players and most importantly the people of Brong Ahafo.

"Our fans have been wonderful and they stuck to us throughout the season and we can only say thank you to them," Addo, who has now won the title with two clubs - the first with AshantiGold - said
.
Aduana won the title on the last day of the season via the head-to-head rule after beating Berekum Arsenals while their close challengers, AshantiGold lost, a feat their coach traces down to his experience in the game, discipline and hardwork.

"I am not surprised because most clubs who make their debut in the premier league are jittery.

"But I have been through lots in this job and worked with the players that I have.

"We always tried to maintain the form and set our sights on the impossible. Our away form wasn't good so we had to improve on that and fortunately or unfortunately, AshantiGold slipped.

Addo, who remained calm as his players got off the celebrations on the pitch after the ceremonial match with Arsenals is looking ahead to the big task of playing in the CAF Champions League.

"I think we can do better in Africa [Champions League]. The team certainly needs to be improved and we would have to go in search for strikers," Addo said.
