Ghana football is mourning the death of a young football player who died a day after a premier league game.

The tragic news of the death of the Kessben FC player was announced on Monday.

19 year-old defender, Bartholomew Yeboah of Kessben died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra where he had been taken to following complications from the weekend's Glo Premier League match against Liberty Professionals.

With seven minutes to finish the game in Dansoman, which Kessben lost 4-0, Yeboah was caught in a challenge for an aerial ball and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

He was subsequently transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he passed away at dawn on Monday.

Details of his death are yet to be communicated by the hospital.
