Asante Kotoko now have the league title back in sight after jumping fourth on the Glo Premier League standings on Wednesday courtesy a 2-0 win over New Edubiase.

The outstanding match-day-20 fixture was cleared at the Baba Yara Stadium with the result leaving the league debutants just a place above bottom as new coach Mohammed Gargo struggles to keep them in the elite competition for next season.

The win would be welcome boost for the Porcupine Warriors following their exit from the CAF Champions League comp0etition over the weekend.

Two second half goals Alex Asamoah after 67 minutes and substitute Kwabena Yaro with nine minutes to end the game eased the pressure on coach Paa Kwesi Fabin.

And with six points separating them from the top, Kotoko could ultimately play a major in deciding the destination of the title come the end of the season which has 10 matches to go.
