Lots of goals capped a busy afternoon of league action as the second round of the Glo premier league opened on Wednesday.

Fresh from a three-week break, most clubs rather looked sharp as the first day of the league’s resumption produced 22 goals from eight match centres.

There is no change at the summit despite Aduana Stars drawing goalless with AshantiGold in a late kickoff at the Len Clay Stadium.

However, champions, Hearts of Oak earned a point to move second after finishing their tie at the Tamale Sports Stadium against Real Tamale United goalless.

Great Olympics came out tops in the seven-goal thriller at the El-Wak Stadium as they defeated All Stars 4-3 despite the Blues managing to rally back from four goals down.

Liberty Professionals kept Hasaacas ground at the bottom of the table after pounding the Sekondi side 4-1 at the Carl Reindorf Park on day when the scoring duties belonged to their Guinean imports Sylla Foda and Capi Soumah.

Sylla finished the day with a hat-trick as Charles Nartey handed the Sekondi side a consolatory goal.

An uninspiring Asante Kotoko edged closer to the top four after posting a 2-0 win over Kessben at the Baba Yara Stadium. Daniel Nii Adjei scored a goal each in either half of the game.

Berekum Arsenals could only draw 1-1 with New Edubiase at the Golden City Park as Heart of Lions beat King Faisal 2-1 at Kpando. The defeat leaves Faisal just a step above the bottom side.

Eleven Wise got off the second round to a good start with a 2-1 victory over Beechem Chelsea at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.

William Owusu put the home team in front after 50 minutes as Chelsea drew level on 80 minutes through Issaka Ibrahim. But a minute after the equalizer, Prince Appiah sealed the game for Wise when he scored the winner.
