Four of the weekend’s match-day-17 games in the OneTouch Premier League has been rescheduled by the Professional League Board to May 7.

Sunday’s matches involving Asante Kotoko and Berekum Arsenal at the Baba Yara Stadium and the fixture at the Ohene Djan Stadium between Great Olympics and Kessben FC would now be played three days later, Wednesday May 7.

Also postponed to Wednesday is the El-Wak Stadium match between Zaytuna FC and Heart of Lions and the game at the Tamale Sports Stadium involving Real Tamale United and Gamba All Blacks.

According to FA spokesperson, Randy Abbey, the decision to reschedule the two games is due to Kotoko’s contribution of players to the local Black Stars and the use of the Ohene Djan Stadium, home of Great Olympics, for the African Nations Championship match involving Ghana on Sunday.

“In the case of Kotoko, they contribute more than three players to the national team and by the rules, they are granted that dispensation.

“The Olympics game would not come off on the Sunday as the grounds would be in use for the international game.

“Also, the league game cannot be played the day before Sunday since CAF rules stipulates that the away team (Togo) have access to the grounds for preparations a day before the game,” the FA spokesperson told www.ghanafa.org.

Ghana plays Togo at the Ohene Djan Stadium first leg match of the second round qualifier of the competition after edging out Niger on a 4-1 aggregate win last month.

The Black Stars are now games away from reaching the finals of the Africa Nations Championships, a new tournament designed by CAF for only home-based players of its member countries.
