With all eyes on the good form of Asante Kotoko this season, questions continue to be raised about the chances of defending league champions, Accra Hearts of Oak, who have had a poor start to the season.
The poor form by the Phobians has seen sweeping changes made to the management and the technical teams. And their readiness after the changes would be tested today when they play Liberty Professionals at the El-Wak Stadium on match-day-5 of the Onetouch Premier League.
Liberty Professionals have already caused the Phobians enough troubles this season having beat them twice to win Cup games, all within an 11-day period.
This would be an opportunity for Hearts of Oak to restore some hope and give the new set-up a good start. But that would have to be at the expense of a Liberty Professionals side who lie second are five points adrift the Phobians.
In other games on Wednesday, the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, one of the match venues for the African Cup of Nations would host league leaders, Asante Kotoko’s game against Great Olympics.
The Wonder Boys who are at the bottom of the table are yet to win having only picked a point in four games, a situation which is in sharp contrast to the fortunes of their opponents, Kotoko, who have recorded four victories in four games.
This might be an opportunity for the Wonder Boys to cause an upset but the strong form of the Porcupine Warriors makes it look like another normal game which would be won by the Reds.
At the Kaladan Park, Real Tamale United would seek to maintain their impressive start to the season when they welcome AshantiGold.
Heart of Lions, smarting from their first loss of the season plays King Faisal, who won their first game over the weekend at the Kpando Park.
The Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast would see Tema Youth battle Kessben FC while Berekum Arsenals welcome Sekondi Hasaacas to the Golden City Park.
Zaytuna United would be at home to Real Sportive at the Carl Reindorf Park as the Wa Park host the game between home side, All Stars and Gamba All Blacks.
