Asante Kotoko’s superior seems to know no bounds this season. The Porcupine Warriors arrived at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday to defeat Real Sportive 3-0 in their match day-4 fixture.
Saturday afternoon’s victory keeps Kotoko’s 100% record intact – four games, four wins –in the Onetouch Premier League.
The Kumasi-based side started the rout in the first half with two unanswered goals before finishing the job in the second period with the third goal.
Mohammed Adamu’s goal bound header in the 3rd minute deflected off the body of the league’s top scorer, Eric Bekoe to sail into the post for the opener and the new signing was credited with the goal.
Kotoko doubled up their lead and again, it was Bekoe who was on hand to make 2-0 for the Porcupine Warriors to end the first half 2-0 up. The second goal was the striker’s fourth goal this season and a personal 19th since joining the Reds at the beginning of the season.
Back from the dressing room, the home side, Real Sportive failed to produce any clear cut opportunities which could have resulted in a goal, making Asante Kotoko enjoy a fine run of 360 minutes without having conceded a goal.
However Kotoko were not finished for the day as Francis Akwaffo notched in the club’s 10th goal this season to make it 3-0 to make sure the comfortable sit at the top of the standings.
