The premiership continues in midweek with match-day-3 fixtures and certainly, there could be surprises at the end of the day as the unbeaten run of some clubs at the top comes under threat.
Asante Kotoko are in such a fine form that every contest they enter into this days already seems destined to end their favour.
But the Porcupine Warriors, who sit at the top of the league standings by a superior goal difference, would be faced with a tricky match on Wednesday when they play in match-day-2 of the Onetouch Premier League against new boys, Wa All Stars.
The midweek pairings pits Kotoko with the Blues at the Coronation Park. The value of Wa All Stars’ players might just be about 10% of that of Kotoko’s but the Blues would seek to cause an upset though the Porcupine Warriors are heavily tipped to win.
However, the day’s topliner is at the Kpando Park where Heart of Lions welcome AshantiGold. The Miners picked a win over the weekend and would be looking at extending that feat to Kpando but they would be faced by one the premiership’s best performing sides.
Lions are second and remain unbeaten after two matches while the Miners are coming from victory over Hearts of Oak, a win which would boost their confidence to return from Kpando with a good result. Though not an easy contest, the home roar is expected to edge on the Lions to go for a win.
At the El-Wak Stadium, troubled Accra Hearts of Oak would try to pick their first win they play Sekondi Hasaacas.
The Phobians, smarting themselves from defeat over the weekend are yet to score a goal in the league. A win would calm nerves and give coach Karim Zito a breather but Hasaacas are capable of spoiling their party.
Kessben FC, who have been impressive so far, recording two wins would be at home at the Anane Boateng stadium where they welcome Liberty Professionals in a tough duel.
Berekum Arsenals, in search of their first win, return to the Golden City Park to play Great Olympics, also looking for their maiden victory.
The Kaladan Park would have Real Tamale United hosting Real Sportive.
Bottom club, King Faisal, left unsettled in the premiership after two defeats travel away to play Tema Youth at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast while Zaytuna United, also struggling having recorded two losses stay at home, the Carl Reindorf Park to take on Gamba All Blacks.
