The High Court in Accra on Friday agreed to an out-of-court arbitration of a suit against the Ghana Football Association and its officials by Emmanuel Otu Quaye.
Nana Fitz Woode, a sports administrator and former chairman of Kumasi Cornestone applied to the court presided over by His Lordship Justice Anthony Kofi Abada, to allow him try to arbitrate the dispute.
"I have spoken to both parties and they have all agreed in principle that the matters be resolved out of court", he stated in a letter addressed to the court.
Both parties are expected to brief the court on the details of the arbitration on Tuesday, November 28.
Counsel for the plaintiff, Ernest Thompson informed the court of an official notification by Nana Fitz and pleaded for two days for the resolution process.
FA counsel, Thaddeus Sory said his clients were not opposed to any means of resolving the case.
Mr.Quaye filed contempt charges against Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Football Association, Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the FA, Mr Kweku Ampim Darko, Deputy General Secretary, Mr Randy Abbey, spokesperson and Mr Welbeck Abra-Appiah, Chairman of the Professional League Board for allegedly defying a court order.
The alleged order sought to place an injunction on the seventh week league matches of the 2006/2007 Onetouch Premier League.
Emmanuel Otu Quaye sought the injunction on the league over the interpretation of clauses in the GFA statutes after the registration of Ishmael Addo and Charles Taylor by Accra Hearts of Oak was rejected.
The FA went ahead to honour the league matches that weekend since it had not been served with the writ placing an injunction on the league.
Accra Hearts of Oak however failed to attend its match against Tema Youth on the basis of the injunction.
The plaintiff cited the FA for contempt of court.
