The interim management team of Accra Hearts of Oak has been dissolved by the club’s policy makers, the Board of Directors.
Board Chairman of the Phobians, Commodore Mensah confirmed the change and stated that a club statement would be issued later.
The one-year old Tommy Okine led management team has been criticised by the club’s supporters for failing to turn around the fortunes of the Phobians.
Though no reason has been given the move according to club insiders is to end the dual roles of board members serving on the management team which a section of the support base had kicked against.
The national support base of Accra Hearts of Oak, NCC, two months ago proposed a change of the club’s management structure claiming the present structure hinders the successful running of the club.
Five members of the 11-man management team were also members of the club’s board of directors.
The club has a 24-member board of directors are expected name a substantive management team hopefully before the weekend’s final round of matches in the premiership.
Accra Hearts of Oak, fifth on the table are faced with the difficult task of picking up a ticket for the two slots available for the Confederation Cup competition.
The Phobians have missed out of reckoning for a place in the African Champions League competition as the tables stands now.
