Former King Faisal president, Herbert Mensah is demanding his share of any player transfers by the club as contained in an agreed MOU before he exited the club.
Following his exit from the club, an agreement signed by the Alhaji Karim Grunsah and Herbert Mensah, stipulated that they will have joint ownership of players who were purchased by the later during his stay with the club, or whose contract extensions he financed.
The agreement further states that these players can only be transferred with the mutual consent of the two parties and the transfer proceeds shared equally between them after the statutory deductions have been made.
The deal was witnessed by former Ghana Football Association chairman, Alhaji M.N.D. Jawula.
Though admitting to the said agreement, King Faisal team manager, Ahmed Kamel says following Herbert’s exit, it was realized that the player signing on fees had not been paid by the former club president.
Ahmed Kamel explained that they were subsequently forced to pay the player signing on fees.
He also says Herbert Mensah would have to give them a breakdown of the sponsorship agreement with Nokia.
This id the second time Herbert Mensah has raised concerns over his share of proceeds from player transfer deals by the club.
In 2004, the transfer of striker, Kojo Poku to Danish club, FC Midtjyland sparked off tension between Alhaji Karim Grunsah and Herbert Mensah.
Herbert Mensah demanded a fair share of Kwadwo Poku’s transfer fee due him from Grunsah.
Though investigations then revealed that Alhaji Grunsah paid Herbert Mensah with a sum of $12,000 as his share of the $200,000 transfer fee instead of the agreed 50 per cent.
