The Ghana Football Association is meeting with premier league sides at the FA’s headquarters to deliberate on FIFA’s planned support for the game in Africa.
World soccer governing body, FIFA would be supporting domestic football leagues of it’s member nations on the continent to ensure that the leagues are competitive to produce good players for the national teams.
An initiative dubbed “Special Project for Africa” has therefore been launched to provide support for domestic leagues in member African nations.
Tuesday’s meeting with the elite division is to discuss the problems of the league and what FIFA can do to strengthen domestic competitions.
FIFA’s plan to assist football associations in Africa is also intended to give them the support to host the 2010 World Cup finals successfully.
