AshantiGold striker Alex Asamoah has increased his goal tally to seven, thus two clear goals ahead of his closet competitors.
Asamoah scored over the weekend on a rather bad day as the Miners’ nine-game unbeaten run was halted by King Faisal at the Sunyani Coronation park.
Though his club lost, his other challengers for the top scorer’s award all failed to find the back of the net on match-day-X, which recorded the highest number of goals.
Twenty-goals were scored across eight centres.
And now, Asamoah is two games away from realising his goal king ambitions.
The Professional League Board would be bringing to an end the 2006 season after match-day-XII as Ghana declare her representatives for continental club football on November 30.
Abraham Annan of Kpando Heart of Lions, Francis Aggrey of Berekum Arsenals and the duo of Great Olympics, Andy Pomayie and Emmanuel Clottey are on Asamoah heels with five goals apiece.
