The Ghana Football Association has put the premier league on hold, pending the outcome of a writ filed against the football governing body by a supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Ghana Football Association, on Tuesday was served with an interlocutory court injunction from an Accra High Court restraining the FA from going ahead with the organization of the league.
The FA after receipt of the court order has decided to indefinitely put the league on hold awaiting the final decision from the courts.
Emmanuel Otu Quaye, a supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak has sought an injunction from an Accra High Court restraining the FA from going ahead with the organization of the league.
The Hearts of Oak supporter is seeking an explanation from the FA over some provisions in the new draft to register players.
This was after the Phobians attempts at registering Charles Taylor and Ishmael Addo for the league was rejected by the FA.
The Football Association’s legal team would attend the court sitting on Friday to hear the injunction placed on the league.
Earlier on Saturday, the local derby at the Tema Park did not come off after Accra Hearts of Oak stayed away from their game against Tema Youth because of the purported injunction placed on the league restraining the FA from going ahead with the matches.
But the Ghana Football Association however on Friday, issued a statement that it had not received any court injunction on the league and subsequently stated that the seventh week matches should be honoured as such at all the league centres.
