The Professional League Board has granted Kumasi Asante Kotoko a ground move to the Robert Mensah stadium for the remainder of the 2006/07 premiership season.

The PLB’s decision takes effect from Sunday, December 10.

Asante Kotoko would thus play their Tema Youth at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast.

This would be the second league fixture by the Porcupine Warriors at the same venue after using the facility for their game against AshantiGold due to a home match ban at the Konongo park.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko initially wanted to use the Sunyani Coronation park for their remaining home games in the OneTouch premier league.

But a switch to the Coronation park grounds was not accepted due to use of the grounds by three other clubs.

Bofoakwa Tano and King Faisal both premiership sides and division one side, B.A United presently use the Sunyani grounds for their league matches.

The Porcupine Warriors quickly made a request to use the Robert Mensah stadium.

Kotoko petitioned the FA for the ground move approval because of low returns from the gates according to officials of the club.

The move to Cape Coast is expected to improve the financial base of the club at the gates.
