Ghana will for the second time host the rest of the continent after Accra was selected to stage the Glo-Caf Awards ceremony.

The event which bestows awards to football persons who hail from the continent for their performances has now been scheduled for March 11 instead of the previous February 25 date.

This is the second time that the Ghanaian capital will host the event which was first held in the country in March 2007.

According to organizers, the event will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Ghana's Michael Essien is in the hunt for the best African Player of the Year 2009 though he faces competition from the Ivorian duo Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, Mali's Seydou Keita and Cameroonian, Samuel Eto'o Fils.
