The team bus carrying Ghana's opening group opponents, Togo on their way to Cabinda came under gunfire attack on Friday before the start of the African Cup of Nations.
Cabinda, a region bordering Congo and separated from the rest of Angola has been embroiled in a long-running independence struggle but is scheduled to host seven Nations Cup matches this month.
Friday's attack, according to reports left the bus driver dead while at least four persons in the Togolese traveling party suffered injuries.
The incident has taken away the shine leading up to the start of the tournament.
The Angolan minister in charge of affairs in Cabinda, Antonio Bento Bembe, called the attack an act of terrorism.
Cabinda is an oil producing region that has been the target of attacks in the past by a separatist group called FLEC.
Ghana's team are currently in in the Angolan enclave of Cabinda, where they arrived on Thursday preparing for the African Cup of Nations, which gets underway on Sunday.
The Black Stars are scheduled to begin their cup campaign against Togo on Monday in Group B.
