Climatic conditions forces the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football - CAF, to change the timing of the 2010 African Cup of Nations to be hosted by Angola.
After receiving a report by the Inspection Team regarding the climatic conditions in Angola during February, where some parts of that country experiences heavy rainfall, CAF’s Executive Committee have decided to alter their initial dates but would still play the tournament within the traditional January time though it would be starting some ten days before the original date.
That means, the competition which always starts on January 20 and runs to February 10 would this time be set to begin from January 10-31, 2010.
This decision was taken at CAF’s Executive Committee meeting in Accra on Wednesday before today’s XXXth General Assembly.
