The girl’s Under-17 team, are wrapping up preparations for their debut international game against Zambia in the qualifiers for the Women U-17 World Cup 2008.
Ghana would play Zambia away in the first leg this weekend in the preliminary round of qualifiers which involves 12 African sides.
The return leg in would be played in Ghana on any of this possible dates January 18, 19 or 20.
A win for Ghana over the two-leg tie would hand them another tie with the winner of the Zimbabwe/DR Congo game in the first round beginning the first week in May.
Team coach, Abraham Allotey has been training Ghana’s young girls at the national camp, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Africa has three slots at the inaugural FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will be played in New Zealand in 2008 as sixteen teams will take part in the event, open to players born after 1 January 1991. And Ghana is hoping to be part of the maiden event.
