Footballers playing in the various leagues in the country would undergone mandatory doping tests to cast out any drug cheats from the beautiful game.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi disclosed the governing body's move at a media interaction in Kumasi on Friday.
The FA's Medical Committee has been tasked to fashion out a proactive doping control programme to check athletes who use performance-enhancing drugs, the FA President said.
Though no player on the local scene has been found guilty for using performance-enhancing drugs int he sport, the Football Association says appropriate sanctions against any offender would be applied.
Aside the strict monitoring of players' usage of drugs in the coming seasons, the FA President has asked players to be disciplined and work harder to boost their football career development rather than resorting to doping to boost their abilities.
