As Europe prepares for the upcoming season, lots of friendly matches are on going across the various continent and Ghanaian internationals are playing their part for their various clubs.
In Hong Kong on Friday, Ghana international, Sulley Ali Muntari won his first silverware even before the English premiership season kicks off as he helped Portsmouth to win the Barclay Asia Trophy after beating Liverpool 4-2 on penalties after a goalless draw in 90 minutes.
Muntari, the club’s record signing, who picked up his first booking as a Pompey player after bringing down an opponent enjoyed a full run out against the Reds.
Also on Friday, Ghana international, Isaac Boakye got off his pre-season campaign on a scoring note when he scored VFL Wolfburg’s second in their 2-0 win over Auxerre on Friday.
Boakye, sealed victory for the German side when he doubled their lead in the 78th minute after Dzeko had put them in the driving seat.
On Saturday, Ghana winger, Laryea Kingston would have the chance to play against his dream team, Barcelona, when Scottish side, Hearts of Midlothian line up against the boys from the Camp Nou.
But first, Hearts would need to seek clearance over the suspension status for the Ghanaian attacker.
Stevie Frail, the Heart of Midlothian assisant coach said: “For Hibs, the big one is Christophe. He is the only one suspended at the minute because we still don’t know about Laryea [Kingston]."
