AshantiGold have reclaimed the top spot on the league table after beating Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Len Clay stadium.

The Miners thus move top the standings with Asante Kotoko slipping to the second after their defeat at Swedru.

Liberty Professionals drew first blood when with two minutes to end the first half; striker Emmanuel Allan put them ahead.

The Miners returned from the dressing room a much more determined side and got the equalizer in the 62nd minute.

Alex Asamoah leveled up for the Miners before Alhaji Sani put them ahead.

Liberty Professionals’ attempts at drawing level failed after Michael Helegbe’s goal was ruled an offside.


Kumasi Asante Kotoko could not recover from a 36th minute strike from Fetteh Feyenoord as the Porcupine Warriors slumped to their first league defeat a the Swedru Park.

The goal scored by Afful Harrison was the first to be conceded by the Porcupine Warriors in the premiership.

The win, the first for Fetteh Feyenoord after a poor start to the season has lifted them up the bottom ranks of the table to the twelfth position.
