The Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee has found Berekum Arsenals official, Takyi Arhin guilty for misconduct and handed him a 12 month suspension.
The Gunners official during his suspension period shall not hold any position in any club which is either a member or affiliated to the Ghana Football Association.
Takyi Arhin, secretary of premiership side, Berekum Arsenals was found culpable for allegedly making derogatory remarks on tribal lines about Gas (people of a local tribe) at the technical meeting preceding his sides league opener against Hearts of Oak.
CASE:
-Alleged misconduct of Mr Takyi Arhin at the technical meeting preceding the Berekum Arsenals V Hearts of Oak match played on August 20, 2006.
DECISION:
-The committee finds Mr Arhin guilty of the charge of misconduct and accordingly suspends him for a period of 12 months.
-During the period of the suspension Mr. Arhin shall not hold any position in any club which is either a member or affiliated to the GFA.
-The Committee has taken a serious view of Mr. Arhin’s conduct in view of the fact that on 1 November 2005 in the 2005/2006 season he was found guilty of misconduct and suspended for 6 months.
The Professional League Board referred the conduct of Mr. Takyi Arhin for investigation after the match commissioner’s report contained charges against the Gunner’s official.
Arsenals defeated Hearts 1-0 on match-day-I at the Berekum Golden City Park.
