Ghana’s chairman for the Local Organising Committee for the 2008 African Cup of Nations, Dr. Kofi Amoah has congratulated FA president Kwasi Nyantakyi, for his new appointment by the Confederation of African Football to serve in the Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations.
The chairman of the LOC, described Kwesi Nyantakyi’s selection for the office as "an appropriate sequence to all the efforts that Ghana has made during the past few months to bring about the rebirth of the nation’s football fortunes."
In a message to the Abedi Ayew Pele who has also been called to serve on CAF’s Football Committee, Dr. Kofi Amoah recalled the image that the former Black Stars’ captain and ex-member of the GFA Board created for Ghana whilst in active football.
He referred to the new appointment as "Abedi Pele’s Godsend opportunity to continue writing the name of Ghana in gold."
Dr. Kofi Amoah has also been nominated to serve on Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations.
He serves on the committee alongside, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
