Accra Hearts of Oak returned from the lion’s den unscathed beating home side, Kpando Heart of Lions 2-1 in match-day-III of the premier league.
Hearts’ 600 million cedi signing, Eric Gawu finally broke his goal duck giving the Phobians the match winner.
The Phobians drew first blood through Stephen Ofei but Lion’s Stephen Owusu cancelled the lead when he equalized for Heart of Lions.
The first half ended 1-1.
And back from recess, Eric Gawu lashed onto a pass from Ruben Senyo to give the visitors the match winner at the Kpando Park.
Helegbe liberates Liberty
Michael Helegbe scored a hat-trick at the Sunyani Coronation Park as Liberty Professionals beat homeside, King Faisal 3-2.
The former national under-20 captain scored the first goal in the 3rd minute but Edmund Owusu-Peprah equalized for Faisal to end the first half 1-1.
Helegbe increased the tally two minutes into the second half.
Again, Edmund Owusu-Preprah was on hand to cancel Liberty Professional’s lead scoring his personal second to make the scoreline 2-2.
But in the 68th minute, Michael Helegbe had the last laugh completing a hat-trick on match-day-III to win the day for Liberty Professionals.
All Blacks draw with Arsenals
Gamba All Blacks failed to pick all three points as Berekum Arsenals managed to pick a point from the Swedru Park.
The homeside could have gone ahead in the early minutes of the game but a penalty awarded them in the first half was hit over the crossbar by Clement Coffie.
Both teams returned for the second half looking to find the back of the net.
All Blacks managed to go ahead through Richard Anderson but his lead was cancelled by Ohene Brenya for Arsenals.
Sportive share the spoils with Power
A 58th minute equalizer from the boot of Seidu Yahaya ensured that Power FC left the Tema stadium with a point in their 1-1 drawn game with Real Sportive.
Real Sportive took the lead through Alhassan Nuhu in the 16th minute of the first half.
Power FC’s defence failed to react to a corner kick, which Nuhu placed beyond goalkeeper Humphrey Amoah.
Sportive looked like coasting to a 1-0 win but Seidu Yahaya went past the Real Sportive rear to hit the ball past advancing goalkeeper, James Nanor.
Pomayie give Olympics win
A first half strike from Andrews Pomayie ensured that Accra Great Olympics record their first win the premier league.
Great Olympics playing at home beat Fetteh Feyenoord 1-0 at the Ho Sports stadium.
The win give the Wonder Boys four points while it condemns Feyenoord to the bottom of the table.
Miners pip Bofoakwa
AshantiGold maintained their position on top the standings after match-day-III in the premiership beating Bofoakwa Tano 1-0 at the Len Clay stadium.
The Miners struggled as the opposing team thwarted all attacks by the strikers of AshantiGold ending the first half 0-0.
In the second half, the Miners stepped up gear but still found it difficult going behind the defence of Bofoakwa Tano.
But in the 58th minute, new signing, Alex Asamoah struck from a Valentine Atem pass to give the Miners the three points.
On Thursday, Tema Youth would hope to continue with their impressive start to the season at home when they host Real Tamale United on Thursday at the Tema Park.
The game between defending league champions, Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Hasaacas at the Gyandu Park would be played at a later date.
