Accra Hearts of Oak’s 11-man management team has suffered a jolt following the resignation of Frank Nelson, an integral member of the Phobian team.
Frank Nelson, resigned from the Tommy Okine led management team on Tuesday citing personal reasons though he still remains on the club’s board.
“I have stepped down from the management but I still serve the club on the board and also Auroras (the feeder club).
“My decision to step down borders on personal reasons.
“My family comes first in everything I do. I would continue to support the team,” he said.
The resignation of Frank Nelson comes in the wake of calls from the club’s national chapters committee-NCC, the support base for the reorganization of the club’s management.
The NCC proposed a change of the club’s management structure claiming that the dual role of some members who serve on the club’s board and management team hinders the successful running of the club.
Currently five members of the 11-man management team are also members of the club’s board of directors.
But Nelson’s resignation has reduced that number to four board members serving on the 10-man management team now.
The club’s 24-member board of directors were expected to make a decision on Tuesday concerning the dual role played by some of its members in the administration of the club.
