Real Tamale United board chairman, Leopuwura M.N.D. Jawula says the club would a take a decision on Abdul Razak, who has confirmed his interest in taking up a national role rather than a place on the club’s bench.
Abdul Razak last week placed on hold the club’s hopes of seeing him take up the position of coach as he expressed his desire to become an assistant to new Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy.
Razak stated that the national job remained his target.
“I want to become the assistant for the Black Stars.
“I have so many offers in Mali. But I don’t want to go back to Mali, I have done all that there is to do there (Mali).
“I want fresh offers.
“It’s my intention, if the position (Black Stars) is vacant, I am ready for it,” Razak said on a local radio network.
The comments by the former national star has forced the Real Tamale United management to consider other options though the “Golden Boy” remains their number one target.
The RTU board chairman now says the club’s board would take a decision after Wednesday.
Real Tamale United were counting on the arrival of Abdul Razak from Mali to turn around the fortunes of the club in the OneTouch premiership.
The Pride of the North are third from bottom in the standings of the sixteen-club league after losing their season’s opener and drawing their second game to that earned them a point.
They play away to Tema Youth on Wednesday.
