Kumasi Asante Kotoko failed to secure a semi-final ticket in the MTN/CAF Champions League as the Porcupine Warriors lost 1-2 to Tunisia's CS Sfaxien on Sunday.
Sfaxien went top of group A and set up a Champions League semi-final against South Africa's Orlando Pirates.
And Al Ahly Cairo will face Ivory Coast champions Asec Mimosas in the other semi-final after a 2-2 draw at Algeria's JS Kabylie secured the Egyptian side second place behind Sfaxien in Group A.
Asante Kotoko looked like staying in contention for a place amongst the last four when defender Murtala Mohammed equalized through a header for the Porcupine Warriors after Ghanaian international, Joe Asamoah Frimpong had given the home side the lead.
The Tunisians got the match winner in the second half to seal the fate of Asante Kotoko.
