Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi has denied reports in the local media that the FA were at loggerheads with the Sports Ministry over the choice of a Black Stars coach.
The Football Association were locked up in a meeting with the Sports Ministry on Monday discussing the contractual terms of the new coach, Claude Le Roy.
But a section of the local media interpreted the meeting as a standoff between the two bodies.
The media claimed that the Sports Ministry preferred local manager, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio to Frenchman, Claude Le Roy.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, who also chaired the FA’s nine-member search committee tasked to scout for a new Black Stars coach says there was no differences with the Sports Ministry.
“At no point was the a standoff with the Sports Ministry.
“We had a consultative meeting with the ministry and not a standoff as being bandied around.
“The ministry were also aware of the process at any stage.
“They respected the credibility and ability of the persons entrusted with the job with look for a new Black Stars coach,” he told the FA’s website.
The Ghana Football Association on Tuesday announced Claude Le Roy as the new Black Stars coach.
Claude Le Roy and Cecil Jones Attuquayefio were both in the running for the Black Stars coaching job, which had been vacant after Serbian, Ratomir Dujkovic resigned his position as Ghana coach in July.
