Accra Hearts of Oak’s hopes of avoiding a fourth CAF Champions League defeat never materialized as Nigeria's Enyimba FC struck late to win 1-0 in Aba.
Hearts who had no mathematical chance of qualification for the semi-finals before the game have thus gone five games without finding the net in the competition.
The only positive result for the Phobians was a goalless drawn game against Orlando Pirates which earned them apoint in Group B.
The injury time goal enhanced the semi-final chances of Enyimba who have amassed seven points.
The top two finishers in each group qualify for the semi-finals, the first legs of which are scheduled for the end of the month.
The last round of the group phase is to be played next weekend.
