Six clubs have been fined various sum amounting to ¢8 million for offences committed in week one of the OneTouch Premier League.
The Professional League Board handed the clubs the fines for various offences committed during the opening day of the new league season.
The affected clubs include Accra Hearts of Oak, Berekum Arsenal, Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord, Tano Bofoakwa, Sekondi Hasaacas and Kpando Heart of Lions.
Hearts and Arsenal were fined ¢2 million each for reporting late for inspection in accordance with Article 23.1(b) of the FA’s rules and regulations.
Feyenoord’s late report for their pre-match meeting with Ashgold flouted Article 23.3 (b) and were rightly finded an amount of ¢500,000.
In the match between King Faisal and Tano Bofoakwa, superstition had the better part of David Sarkodie of Bofoakwa who threw an object into King Faisal’s goal post on resumption of the second half.
For that action which flouts Article 35.3 of the rules and regulation, Bofoakwa were slapped with a ¢2 million fine to serve as a deterrent to other players.
Sekondi Hasaacas were also made to pay an amount of ¢1 million for not adhering to rules which stipulates that only five officials sit on the club’s bench.
Twenty-six players were cautioned in the course of their matches for various offences committed.
Hearts of Oak’s Anthony Annan and Kotoko’s George Yamoah received cautions for dissent in their matches against Berekum Arsenal and Olympics respectively with the rest receiving cautions for unsporting behaviour.
They include Mohammed Bawa (Hearts); Henry Ohene Poremya (Arsenal); Daniel Quao (Power FC); Danjuma Jarfour (Gamba All Blacks); Theophilus Akpo, Dominic Adiyia and Noel Nyasugbor (Feyenoord) and Muburak Wakaso (AshantiGold).
Others are Eric Ansah, Daniel Sarkodie, Francis Darko, Kwadwo Boateng (Tano Bofoakwa); Sumaila Nyanya, Basim Usaman (King Faisal); Kwame Obeng Darko, Samuel Addo (Kotoko) and Sumaila Iddrisu (Olympics).
The rest are Yaya Mohammed, Alexander Antwi and Francis Obeng (Tema Youth); Joseph Bissah (Hasaacas), Samuel Ganson, George Mensah (Real Sportive) and Alhassan Weah, Issahaku Mufala (RTU).
Heart of Lion’s Richard Ladzekpo received the marching off orders for a second bookable offence in their match against power FC.
He was accordingly banned for two consecutive matches including the match played under Article 39.6.a.v. with the club being fined to the tune of ¢500,000.
