The Confederation of African Football has referred Ghana’s protest over the sport body's decision to have Ghana and Congo played on a new date to the competitions organizing committee.
Congo failed to show up for the first leg of the qualifier in Obuasi on Sunday (23 July) after several indecisions over their arrival date, forcing the match commissioner to call off the tie and declare Ghana winners over the two legs.
The outcome of the competitions organizing committee meeting would be communicated to both nations by CAF.
The Congolese after their initial request for the game to be postponed to a Monday had been turned down by the Ghana Football Association, the Congolese later informed the FA they would arrive in Ghana on Saturday, a day before the game (23 July).
They failed to show up and again sent a request on Sunday that the game be played on Tuesday.
But CAF later on decided that the two federations agree on a new date for the match, a decision which the Ghana Football Association protested against.
