Russian side, Spartak Moscow have tabled a £3.5 million bid for Ghana international Gyan Asamoah.

The Udinese player impressed Spartak scouts during the World Cup and after weeks of talks the Russian giants lodged their bid yesterday.

However, Udinese coach Giovanni Galeone is reluctant to lose Asamoah and is urging patron Gianpaolo Pozzo not to sell.

Gyan, played for Modena FC in the Italian Serie B on a season's loan deal.
